Alan,
Just for curiousity (I've tried asking in game press, but no response)... the variant tourney was due for last spring and not yet started... what's the schedule? will it overlap with the autumn regular no-press tourney?
Thanks.
Steve

No, we will not be running it this year.
This year I had to see that my mother got into an assisted living facility and that devoured any free time that I had expected to have.
The Variant Tournament just got away from me.
We will be running the conventional no-press tournament, games starting on September 8. Registrations must be completed by this Saturday.
Alan
P.S. By the way, who are you? Your name is not on your post.
Alan,
It's Steve Coberman (harold_victor)... the name shows ok on my version. No worry about the tourney, but it would be nice if we could play the "build any centre" next year, as it looks a fun variant. By the way, I'm happy (with a small amount of coaching) to stand down from the autumn tourney and TD instead.
Registrations must be completed by this Saturday.
is that today, "this Saturday"? I guess not... it would be nice if the forum posts showed the date of posting. Is that possible?
Hi Ken:
Please read my first response to Steve Coberman's original posting.
We will not have the variant tourney this year.
I did not have the time to coordinate the variant tournament this year because of personal demands in my life.
We are running the conventional no press tournament on schedule.
Kind Regards,
Alan
re: dates on postings
Hi Again Ken:
If you look at my reply to Steve, you see the notation at the bottom of the reply:
Posted 1 week ago # 76.160.46.66
Click on the link, # 76.160.46.66, and you will see a list of all of my postings with the exact date and time of each posting.
HTH,
Alan
huh? i dont see anything like 76.160.46.66. What i see says: "POSTED 19 HOURS AGO", which seems straightforward enough... I can figure out that you posted it earlier today. But the 2nd post in this thread reads, "POSTED 1 WEEK AGO #", which is the same thing as it said yesterday, when i was thinking that it had been posted 8/22/09... but now that it is sunday, it seems like one week ago would be 8/23/09, so "completed by this saturday" meant by yesterday (8/29/09)... i guess?
Alan,
The IP address that made the post is probably only visible to administrative users. I also do not see that info. It would be useful to have a date and time of posting listed instead of the generic ' 2 Days ago' , ' "1 week ago" sections. I'm not sure if that is doable in the software.
