I have had to put the forum at Dipsters.org into a password protected directory because of repeated attempts to spam our group from the outside.

To access the new forum now, just use the user id and password which you had chosen when you came over to Dipsters.org from our old site.

If you have not yet registered on Dipsters.org, you will have to do so before you can access our new forum again.

Is there a WordPress plug-in that operates similar to this one - http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:HttpAuth - for MediWiki?

The principle is that the HTTP identity info is in the PHP environment so it's possible to reuse that to authenticate the user for the program after the user has been authenticated to the web server.
