I am not dead nor have I disappeared...I have been just a little overwhelmed and definitely depressed. Last year has been a very difficult year for me, one that was filled with concern about the older folks in my family and then capped itself off with the sudden death of one of my very dearest friends on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.</p> <p>I have always enjoyed my association with this group. I have been very pleased that in our short history we have sponsored approximately 200 Dipsters tournament games and at least that many Dipsters non-tournament games. It has been equally gratifying to know that so many of the players in those games really enjoy the difference in our games...the brisk pace, the respect for competitors, the enjoyable competetive level of these games, and the camaraderie that follows each game's completion.</p> <p>I was quite disappointed in myself when my personal problems kept me from hosting the Dipsters Tournaments this past year. One thing that I now realize is that one cannot rely upon one person to get things done...even when that person is oneself. It just does not always work.</p> <p>With this in mind, I am now asking for a qualified person to come forward now to be the TD (Tournament Director) for our Spring No-Press Variant Tournament.</p> <p>I have also decided to close down the Dipsters and Diplomacy Direct sites on Yahoo! within a week.
