Joining the Dipsters Group
To join the Dipsters Group, one must have a record of:
- no willingly abandoned games
- a high on-time ratio (>90%) in submitting orders
- at least 5 completed games on the Judges
Note that your application to join this group implies your acceptance of the bylaws for the Dipster Group in their entirety.
Diplomacy Direct
New online players with 1 to 4 completed Judge games may use the Dipsters registration form here to join Diplomacy Direct, our associated playing group for new online players. Just follow the "Join Our Group" link on this page.
Diplomacy Direct gives the new online player direct and immediate access both to a vigorous playing community through the Members Forum and to enjoyable and briskly paced games as well. It allows him to avoid the numerous abandonments and late order submissions which plague most online "newbie" games.
Dipsters.org
Our website, Dipsters.org, gives us a great deal of flexibility in serving the needs of our members. Below are just a few ideas that we already have for this site and we will be very happy to listen to the ideas of our members and to adapt this site to their desires.
Members Forum
The Members Forum is the heart of our very vibrant playing community. Here you will find a constant exchamge of ideas on strategy, new game formats, F2F Cons, and any interesting thing about Diplomacy.
Dipsters Games
For the complete list of all ongoing and forming Dipsters games, follow one of the 'Current Games' links on this page.
Unless the listing for your specific game states otherwise, you must be a member of either the Dipsters Group or Diplomacy Direct to play in these games.
Tournaments
The Dipsters Group currently runs three annual tournaments:
- A Full Press Tournament
- A Variant No-Press Tournament
- A Conventional No-Press Tournament
Click on one of the 'Tournaments' links on this page to sign up for our current forming tournament or to follow our ongoing or completed tournaments.
Showcase Games
In addition to all the games mentioned above, we have always taken pride in arranging showcase games. These are usually classic matchups between very good players. These players post their realtime game thoughts to our secure observation site where observers engage in lively discussions of the players' strategies and analyze the game as it is being played. These games are accessible through the 'Showcase Games' link on this page.
More Links
This last section of the dipsters.org website may prove to be the most interesting of all. We hope to see it serve as a conduit for many new ideas:
- Messge Boards or Forums for Your Own Local F2F Playing Groups
- Interesting Diplomacy Websites
- Provocative Diplomacy Articles and 'Zines
- New Gaming Formats In Addition To F2F and Judge Play
- ...and whatever else you may desire to see. :)
Enjoy this group and the great games that you will find here!
